    Hi guys,

I am new to RORB and looking for an instructional on how to create a rainfall file, catchment file (with graphical editor) through to running design storms and reviewing results. I have read through the RORB manual and still have not grasped how to do it in RORB.

Could someone take me through a simple example and explain the process such as “click-edit-rainfall file….”.

    Thanks.

    Hi Alex

Thanks for your post. There are a couple of options to help you out. The user manual contains a number of worked examples in Section 10. These examples use pre-prepared data files which are provided with the RORB download. If you are able to work through these examples they will provide a useful basic introduction into operation of the program.

As well as this, we have just advertised a RORB training course to be run in Melbourne on December 12 and 13. Day 1 of this course in particular focuses on the basics of developing catchment files, storm files and running the model. If you’re able to get along to this, you’d come away armed with all the knowledge you need to set up and run your own models.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Lee,

Unfortunately RORB does not come as a python script. If you are wanting to automate things the only option would be to use the command line version of RORB. There are instructions on how to use the command line version in the RORB download but you are going to need to write a wrapper that creates the files required for command line RORB and loop through.

    Kind regards,

    Benson
