Dr Fatima Azhar

Fatima joined HARC in 2022 and has over ten years’ experience of working in academia and industry. As a Hydrologist, she has been involved in flood risk management, flood modelling, and dam-break consequence assessment projects. Recently, she has completed her PhD in Water Engineering from Monash University where her research was focussed on vehicle stability in floodwaters.

Fatima also has expertise in applying a variety of modelling tools (HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, RORB, Delft3D and DualSPHysics) and GIS applications (QGIS and ArcGIS) for hydraulic and hydrological modelling.

Prior to moving to Australia, Fatima was a Design Engineer in the Water Resources Division of NESPAK, a premier consultancy firm in Pakistan.
