Hench is a Senior Hydrologist and Chartered Engineer (Victoria, Queensland, and ACT) with over 12 years of experience in hydraulic modelling, dam breach and consequence assessments, and hydrology. He has led and delivered a wide range of projects for major Australian water authorities, including Seqwater, Sunwater, WaterNSW, Southern Rural Water, and Melbourne Water. He is currently managing the Seqwater Portfolio Risk Assessment and has contributed to portfolio-wide risk assessments for Goulburn-Murray Water, Snowy Hydro Limited, and Melbourne Water.
Hench is highly proficient in TUFLOW, RORB, and LifeSim, and has made significant contributions to the industry through the publication and presentation of several award-winning papers in 2018 and 2019. These works focused on the application of HEC-LifeSim to enhance the consistency and robustness of consequence assessments for dam safety studies.
