HARC was engaged by the Victorian Environmental Water Holder (VEWH) to a) assess the current and future reliability of environmental entitlements in Victoria and b) identify where environmental watering objectives are at most risk.
In partnership with Melbourne University and Streamology, HARC assessed options for how the project could be done. These options were discussed with the VEWH and other stakeholders.
HARC then coordinated a consistent approach to water resource modelling and data processing across the state that produced maps and other summaries of where risks to environmental entitlements and ecological outcomes are highest now, and under a range of potential future climate conditions.
The project outcomes will by used by the VEWH to inform their efforts on adapting to climate change.
