The Independent Hydroclimate Science Expert Panel (IHSEP) for the Murray-Darling Basin was set up to provide independent, strategic advice to the Murray-Darling Basin Authority on future hydroclimate approaches for CSIRO’s Murray-Darling Basin Sustainable Yields Project and the Basin Plan Review. The expert panel was a multi-disciplinary team of 7 experts, including senior water resource planner Brad Neal from HARC and senior academics from various universities around Australia. It also included two early career scientists. HARC’s involvement provided expert opinion to help interpret hydroclimate science research, for the purposes of applied basin water planning and modelling for climate variability and climate change.
