Western Water was considering purchasing from DELWP the unallocated share of inflows to Lake Merrimu, in western Victoria. Both DELWP and Western Water were concerned that neither the long-term average nor the 1997-2009 Millennium Drought were the most appropriate representation of average inflows under current climate conditions. HARC (and Brad Neal) were engaged to identify the most appropriate period and to calculate average annual inflows over this time.
