We are excited to announce that Dr Christian Urich has joined the HARC team, in our Melbourne office.
Christian joins HARC from the Water Sensitive Cities Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), where he was the project leader for the Tools and Products Program. While with the CRC he led the development of web-based GIS tools to support the planning and design of water sensitive precincts and cities and the understanding and evaluation of the benefits of blue-green infrastructure on urban heat and the urban water balance.
Christian has led and contributed to the application of these tools nationally and internationally. To date, outputs and insights from these tools have been applied in cities and municipalities in Austria, Australia, Indonesia, Fiji and China to support the development of sustainable urban water management.
More broadly, Christian has extensive experience in the development of novel decision support systems that integrate data, climate change, urban development, urban heat, flood and water cycle models to support urban water planning.
Christians extensive experience in the simulation and analysis of urban systems and the harnessing of data and spatial information further strengthen HARCs credentials as an industry leader.
We warmly welcome Christian to the team.
